When in doubt, ask the Stars! Would Deepika be open to dating fans also once in a while? Or are Deepika's link-ups with various co-stars just a marketing gimmick? Is Neil Nitin Mukesh keen to keep his single status or looking for his lady love? Will Deepika get back with Ranbir?
These are just a few of the several questions which will be answered by the stars in an absolutely candid conversation with their fans.
When asked by a fan about the secret of her several link-ups, Deepika says, "Is there a secret? I think the secret is Marketing!"
"As far as women are concerned, I don't know what is keeping them away from me but that is an answer that only the women can give." says Neil when put on the spot about his single status.
The conversations with callers went from downright outrageous to on-air proposals. LAFANGEY PARINDEY stars Neil Nitin Mukesh & Deepika Padukone talk to fans about love, life & everything else on Ring A Star only on zoOm.
Deepika Padukone has all the right reasons to smile. After all her parents are proud of their 'beti' who has managed to make a steady progress in her professional career. Being one of the very few actors in the industry today who has a huge line up of films, Deepika's last major success was Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL (Akshay Kumar). Now she has Yash Raj Films' LAFANGEY PARINDEY (Neil Nitin Mukesh) lined up which would be followed by Karan Johar's BREAK KE BAAD (Imran Khan) and Ashutosh Gowariker's KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE (Abhishek Bachchan).
"I am fortunate to get such a wide range of films and my parents are expectedly happy for me as well", Deepika perks up here, "The year has begun well for me. KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK was a good film and it wasn't one of your quintessential Bollywood film. We marketed it appropriately as well and it did reach out to its target audience. The film's script was quite realistic with a thriller touch to it. HOUSEFULL was an entirely different experience as it was a hardcore mainstream commercial film which was bright, colourful and entertaining. Now I have LAFANGEY PARINDEY coming up which takes me into a different zone. Things couldn't have been better."
Looks like she is also taking a conscious call in choosing her projects that give her quite a wide range of roles throughout the year.
"I am glad that my directors think I can do better with every passing film of mine", gushes Deepika, "OM SHANTI OM or a LOVE AAJ KAL have been milestone affairs and now I aspire to have many more milestones like these in years to come. It is great to see such a wide range of films coming my way."
She adds, "Now look at Ashu's (Gowariker) film KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE; it is a completely different affair. I have been shooting with Imran on BREAK KE BAAD in Delhi and it has been fun so far. Once you see all these bunch of films over next few months, you would yourself tell me that they are all different films. Whether it's the story, my character or the look; thankfully I have been able to do try out different things in all aspects."
It was a special moment for Omkar Das Manikpuri aka 'Natha' of the much-awaited film PEEPLI LIVE when he met his favourite actress Deepika Padukone recently.
But the moment became all the more special when Omkar gifted his heart-throb a traditional necklace, reports said.
'This is an antique piece,' said Deepika after receiving the beautiful token from her fan and assured him of keeping it with her 'forever'.
An overjoyed 'Natha' stated, 'I am very happy to meet Deepika, I am big fan of her.'
Meanwhile, Deepika was also full of praises for Omkar. The actress said she had heard a lot about Omkar's acting and she is eagerly looking forward to see PEEPLI LIVE.
'I am looking forward to see his performance in PEEPLI LIVE,' said Deepika.
PEEPLI LIVE is the much-awaited film of the year and with Aamir Khan sitting in the producer's seat, fans are expecting much from the film.
On the other hand, Deepika will be seen pairing up with Neil Nitin Mukesh in her upcoming movie LAFANGEY PARINDEY, where she is playing a blind girl.
So it will be quite an interesting tussle between both Deepika and her 'fan' Omkar in future when the two films hit the theatres.
In an industry where link-up stories involving the co-stars is a norm, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh seems to have been spared of such things.
The actor, who is looking forward to the release of his next opposite Deepika Padukone, is kicked about his new role. So far not a single story linking Deepika and Neil has surfaced prompting us to think why so?
Actually, many feel that Neil does not have the appeal that would make him eligible for a link up story. Others feel that he is too buddy-buddy and that he never thinks of going around with his co-stars. When Neil was recently asked why we don't read about his link up stories, the actor, who was a bit surprised at the question said, 'I don't figure in the link-up stories with my co-stars because I don't want such publicity. The day I want it is the day you will read it.'
While Deepika and Neil make a cute couple in their upcoming film LAFANGEY PARINDEY, we hope the chemistry between the two lives up to its expectations.

Deepika Padukone was in a self-obsessed mood as she launched Namita Jain's book 'Jaldi Fit'. With an hour glass figure, she is definitely one of the fittest actresses in Bollywood today. And she has no qualms in admitting so.
"I am the fittest actress in Bollywood," said the dusky beauty. On being asked which actress she considers to be fit, apart from her, Deepika said, "Priyanka Chopra is a very fit. And among the actors, it's Akshay Kumar."
The actress said that being fit is very important. "If there's something that you really want to do, you automatically make time for it. Fitness has become a part of my life. I don't think about fitness as 'Oh my God! I have to workout'."
Like her contemporaries Bipasha Basu and Shilpa Shetty, does Deepika have any plans to launch her own fitness DVDs? "I have no plans to launch any fitness DVDs," was her terse reply.
The 24-year-old also admitted her love for eating. "I love eating. For me, it's almost a hobby to try out different cuisines when I travel the world. Fortunately in the profession that I am, I get to travel a lot. I also have sweets and deserts. The secret is to understand your body. It is said rice is not good for you. As a South Indian, I have grown up on rice. So it really depends on what suits your body. And of course, you have to combine it with workout. If you are not going to burn the calories, then you will put it on (weight)."
What if Deepika is asked to gain weight for a film and look fat? "Putting on weight is not a problem, but losing it is. So I'll have to think twice about it.
Deepika will next be seen in LAFANGEY PARINDEY opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh. The film hits the screens on August 27.
During the making of LAFANGEY PARINDEY, Pradeep Sarkar, was rehearsing for a scene in which Deepika Padukone had to beat Neil Nitin Mukesh and his friends first with a broom and then by throwing a pail of water on them.
He insisted that Deepika was not doing the scene correctly. So he picked up a jhaadu (broom) himself and hit Neil and Namit on their bums. Both of them stood, holding their bums while Deepika and the whole unit burst into laughter.
LAFANGEY PARINDEY is all set to release on August 20.
Deepika Padukone may be doing different kinds of films currently. This year itself she has had a psychological thriller (KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK) and a comedy (HOUSEFULL) to her credit with an action entertainer (LAFANGEY PARINDEY), a musical love story BREAK KE BAAD) and period drama (KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY) arriving before end of year. However, it is the genre of 'feel good' films that she truly loved during her growing up years.
When questioned about the kind of genre that interests her most as an audience, Deepika said, 'I grew up watching films by the likes of Adi (Aditya Chopra), Karan Johar and Yash Chopra. These are the kind of films that I really loved. Then when I grew a little older, there were films like DIL CHAHTA HAI which I really loved. Cinema had started changing and accordingly the taste also changed.'
Watching feel good or cool films isn't something which is restricted only to Deepika. Her parents too share a similar mindset, as revealed by Deepika. 'My mother always says that there is anyway so much tension in one's life with a lot of things happening all around you, so why not watch a film which makes you feel good. With my family, I have loved watching films that had no killings or murders happening.'
However, when it comes to picking roles, she is not restricting herself to only those films that personally interest her most as an audience. 'I would not combine the two,' she smiles, 'I won't say that I will do only those films which I personally love to watch. If I do that, I will only end up getting restricted and slotted.'
